Letter from the MC Principal

Hello MC families,

I hope that you are all having a great week. As a reminder our 6th and 7th graders are going to be doing service activities with their Advisors on Friday, January 19th. We are encouraging students to either pack a lunch or get a sack lunch that day as the focus on that day is service. We will have an extended Advisory day focused on celebrating the year in May, but we really want our students to focus on the service that they are going to do this time around. We’ll focus on celebration later. Look for information from your 6th and 7th grade Advisors via email about what your student’s Advisory group is planning to do.

FYI MAP scores are going to be uploaded to ManageBac early next week (probably Tuesday).

Finally, if there are students who are interested in photography and videography Mr. Ty and Mr. Chavez are starting a club focused on documenting sporting events. There will be an interest meeting on Tuesday, January 16th after school.

Mark Sanders

Mark Sanders began teaching at ANCS in 2011. Before coming to the school, Mr. Sanders worked in New York City. He spent three years teaching 7th and 8th grade mathematics at Middle School 50 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and two years at Harlem Village Academies teaching Geometry and Algebra 2/Trigonometry. He taught 8th grade Math/Science/Technology at ANCS for five years.
