MC Black History Month Celebration and Teach-In

This month students and staff at the Middle Campus have been immersed in preparations for our annual Black History Month Celebration and Teach-In on Tuesday, February 27th. Students have been crafting a tangible timeline of Atlanta’s Black history, displayed on advisory doors. Our campus will be transformed into a dynamic walking museum, showcasing the rich tapestry of our city’s past. Across various subjects, teachers incorporate diverse aspects of Black history into their lessons, fostering a comprehensive understanding. On the day of the Teach-In students will rotate through various Black history focused sessions taught by teachers and fellow students in lieu of attending their regular class schedule. For lunch students will be served a menu that honors Black History Month. The day begins with an extended Morning Meeting which will include various performances and presentations – this is the Celebration portion of the day. Parents are welcomed to join the Celebration on February 27th from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
