2025–26 Student Personal Device Policy Update

As we all know, cell phones and smartwatches play a major role in our daily lives—and they also significantly impact our children’s focus, learning, and mental health. Last year, we began revising our school’s cell phone procedures, gathering feedback from students, staff, and families. Starting in the 2025–26 school year, we are formalizing these changes in line with new state requirements that remove phones from classrooms.

Middle Campus Procedure (Grades 6–8):

  • Students will turn in both cell phones and smartwatches to their Advisor during morning Advisory.
  • Devices will be locked in a secure cabinet in the main office.
  • At the end of the day, Advisors will retrieve the cabinets, and students will get their devices back during afternoon Advisory.
  • To reach your child during the day, call the school at 678-904-0051. A student phone is also available in the main office for student use if needed.

Our rising 7th and 8th graders piloted this during Milestones last year. Staff noticed more student interaction during lunch and recess and fewer unnecessary class disruptions—positive signs of the program’s impact.

Elementary Campus Procedure (Grades K–5):

Students will continue to turn off and store devices in their backpacks for the entire school day, as expected last year. This year, we will be more diligent with enforcement.

Thank you for your partnership in helping us create a more focused and connected school environment.
