Meet the Governing Board Chair

On behalf of the ANCS Governing Board, I want to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families for the 2025–2026 school year! We’ve had an amazing start, and it’s hard to believe we’re already more than 25% through the year.

I am honored to serve as Board Chair for a second year. I have been a proud member of the ANCS community for the past eight years and currently have two sons at the Middle Campus—Jace (7th grade) and Cade (6th grade). Professionally, I work in the field of education and deeply believe in the power of public education. I have a profound appreciation for our school community and remain fully committed to the mission, core values, and guiding principles of ANCS.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteers serving on our Governing Board, including five new members: Kilamba Augusto, Duanne Davis, Jen Hidinger-Kendrick, Robin Hubier, and Evan Saddat. Each brings valuable expertise and a strong commitment to serving our school community. I also want to express our sincere gratitude to Oriole Mirosa, Amber Suitt, and Cory Tiede, who recently completed their terms. Their leadership and service over the past three years have left a lasting impact on ANCS.

Family engagement is central to the success of our school. I encourage you to stay involved—whether by joining the PTCA, volunteering on a committee, serving as a class sponsor, or attending school events. These opportunities not only strengthen our community but also enrich your family’s experience at ANCS. Many lasting friendships are formed through active involvement, and I can personally attest to the joy it brings. Please continue to read the Courier, check the school calendar, and maintain open communication with your child’s teachers throughout the year.

I also invite you to attend any of our Governing Board meetings this year. Meetings are held both in-person at the Elementary Campus and virtually, typically on the third Thursday of each month. Meeting details are available on the ANCS website. All meetings are open to the public, and we encourage your participation as part of our school family.

In closing, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our Leadership Team, Faculty and Staff, and Executive Director. Your hard work, preparation, and dedication—from summer planning to the first days of school—are what make ANCS such a special place to learn and grow. Because of your efforts, we’ve had a strong and successful start to the year.

I wish everyone a wonderful school year ahead. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any Board member with questions, ideas, or concerns.

Warm regards,

Shannon Rutledge
