Maya Jenkins
Instructional Mentor
Maya Jenkins has been a part of the ANCS family since 2006 and has been teaching since 2001. Ms. Jenkins began her teaching career in the Atlanta Public Schools where she taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade, She also taught 2nd grade for four years in the Fulton County Public Schools before coming to work at ANCS.
Ms. Jenkins received her B.A. in Sociology from The University of Massachusetts and a M.Ed. in early childhood education from Georgia State University. She recently graduated from Columbia University with an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership.
Ms. Jenkins finds ANCS to be an exciting place to work because she can learn and engage with students. She enjoys watching them learn and take part in engaging projects and other learning experiences. She finds ANCS to be a strong hands-on community with a lot of parental involvement. In addition, Ms. Jenkins enjoys working with the entire ANCS staff. “The staff is wonderful to work with and visibly love what they do.”
In her free time, Ms. Jenkins likes spending time outdoors, playing tennis, and reading.
