At ANCS, we believe that strong partnerships between families, schools, and communities are essential to the success of our students. That’s why we’ve created Parent University—a dynamic program designed to equip families with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to support their children’s academic, social, and emotional development.

What is Parent University?

Parent University is a collaborative effort between ANCS, community stakeholders, teachers, and parents, all working together to offer workshops, training sessions, and activities that empower families. Each quarter, we bring you engaging programming tailored for parents and caregivers. These interactive workshops cover a wide range of topics, from parenting strategies and student wellness to academic enrichment and navigating the challenges of modern education.

PARENT UNIVERSITY RESOURCE HUB

The first session will take place on September 18th, 2024 and will focus on student mental health, featuring a resource fair, breakout sessions, and practical tools to help support our students’ well-being. Together, we’ll work to foster their growth and nurture their mental health. Plus, parents and caregivers will earn the first of four badges, marking their progress through Parent University. Our Mission: Supporting Families, Supporting Students

Research shows that when families are involved in their children’s education, it has a direct and positive impact on academic achievement, student confidence, and overall well-being. By providing families with up-to-date information and practical tools, Parent University helps foster this involvement, ensuring that parents and caregivers can actively participate in their children’s success.

What Can You Expect?

  • Expert-Led Workshops: Each session is led by trained professionals and educators with expertise in the areas most relevant to parents today.
  • Interactive Learning: Workshops are designed to be collaborative and hands-on, encouraging meaningful dialogue and practical application of new ideas.
  • Timely Topics: Stay informed on the latest trends and strategies in child development, student wellness, and educational success.

Why Get Involved?

Your involvement matters. By participating in Parent University, you’ll gain valuable insights into how you can enhance your child’s learning and personal growth. The skills and knowledge you acquire will help you support your child both at home and in collaboration with teachers and the school community. Together, we can work to raise happy, healthy, and successful students.

We encourage all parents and caregivers to join us at Parent University. It’s a rewarding opportunity to learn, connect, and make a meaningful difference in your child’s education.
