Alina Matthews has taught at ANCS since 2008. Previously she was a Student Support Services Coordinator in the Department of Counseling Services at Georgia Southwestern State University and a Teaching Artist for Moving in the Spirit. She was also the Chief of Staff at the Midtown Art Cinema.

Mrs. Matthews enjoy working with the faculty, staff and students at ANCS. Working at ANCS allows Mrs. Matthews to be very creative and flexible. She enjoys teaching health & fitness skills to the students.

Mrs. Matthews enjoys teaching dance at Moving in the Spirit. During her free time, she enjoys reading, dancing and volunteering. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She is an active member of Sigma Omega Zeta of Clayton County. She serves as the Community Service Chairperson in the chapter.

Mrs. Matthews has a B.S. in Sociology and Psychology from Georgia Southwestern State University. She also has a M.S. in Human Services with a specialization in Social & Community Services from Capella University. She has expertise in conflict resolution, peer education/mediation, and modern/lyrical dance.
