Caroline Berney

Kindergarten Teacher

Caroline Berney received a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon. She has been teaching for over twelve years. Previously, Ms. Berney worked as a lead educator for five years at The Nest Nursery School and for three years at The Grant Park Cooperative Preschool – Cabbagetown. In her pre-child life, she was a proofreader at various accounting firms in downtown Atlanta.

After graduating from college in Eugene, Oregon, Ms. Berney has called Atlanta home sweet home since 1997. She is a mother to two lovely teenagers, Ava and Lillian. They both love insects and animals of all kinds, playing video games and watching movies, hanging out with friends, and drawing. They share their space with two cats, Cricket and Beetle.

Things that make Ms. Berney curiouser and curiouser: insects, typography, empowered childbirth (she’s also a doula!), running, reading, flower-tending, new wave 80s and goth/industrial music, and finding the sweet simplicity in life. She looks forward to being inquisitive, imaginative, and insightful with the students at ANCS.
