Katie Baughman
Library Media Specialist
Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from LaGrange College and a master’s degree in Media and Instructional Design from the University of West Georgia.
With 16 years of experience in school settings, Katie began her career as a middle school math teacher at a 3rd-8th grade fine arts magnet school in Troup County, Georgia. After two years, she transitioned to the media center at the same school, serving as the library media specialist for four years. Following the closure of that school due to budget cuts, she worked at Gardner Newman Middle School for another four years. Katie then moved to Atlanta, where she taught middle school math at Chattahoochee Hills Charter School for a year, and middle school English Language Arts at Kindezi Charter School for five years. In 2022, she took a break from teaching to recharge, spending the last two years as an office manager for the nonprofit Center for Transportation and the Environment. This will be her first school year at ANCS.
Katie loves to read and discuss books. She also enjoys biking, walking, crocheting, sewing, baking, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.
