Lesley Wood

5th Grade ESS Teacher

Lesley Wood has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Georgia. She has been a Special Education teacher for 9 years and is beginning her 6th year at ANCS. After 4 years at the ANCS middle campus, she’s excited to begin her second year as a 5th-grade teacher at the elementary campus.

Prior to her becoming an education professional, Lesley was a medical editor working for both Emory University and the American Cancer Society for over 15 years.

Lesley is the proud mom of two boys, ages 17 and 15. Her older son is on the autism spectrum and it’s through her journey with him and his experience that she became interested in special education and working with these amazing kids. She feels rewarded every day by making connections and supporting the individual needs of every student. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her boys, traveling, live music, and attempting to solve true crime mysteries.
