Makisha Rogers

K- 5th Grade Instructional Technology Specialist

Makisha Rogers joined the ANCS faculty in 2017 as an Instructional Technology Specialist. She has been teaching for 8 years and earned her B.A. degree in Advertising/Public Relations from the University of Georgia. She also earned her Masters of Education in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Georgia.

Ms. Rogers loves learning about different digital tools and ways to incorporate digital learning into the curriculum, developing the whole child. Her teaching background is in Language Arts and Reading, so she is particularly interested in how digital tools can support literacy instruction. She also thinks coding, tinkering, and making is going to play a critical role in developing future ready students, so she is very excited about this movement and the new possibilities it brings to education.

Prior to starting at ANCS, Ms. Rogers taught ELA/Reading at Price Middle School for 3 years. She served as Technology Integration Specialist at Atlanta Speech School for 4 where she supported both students and teachers in learning digital tools and integrating them into the curriculum.

Makisha Rogers loves being swept away by a good book. She is a huge Young Adult/Fantasy Fiction fan, Harry Potter Forever! Also, she sometimes likes to turn her music up really loud and have dance parties for one!
