Margarita Cruz
K-8 ESOL Teacher
Margarita earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Sociology from Hunter College, CUNY. Also, she earned a Master in Social Work from the Fordham University School of Social Services and a Master of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Margarita is certified as an ESOL teacher.
Margarita worked as a Social Worker in various agencies in New York City for over 20 years. Margarita’s teaching career began in 1998 for City Schools of Decatur as a Spanish teacher. She worked as a Spanish teacher in grades k-3 for 6 years and then as a Kindergarten teacher for 13 years. Margarita retired in 2017 from Glenwood Elementary, City Schools of Decatur. She joined the ANCS staff in 2018 as the ESOL teacher.
Margarita’s interest outside of the classroom include yoga, Qi gong exercises, nature walks, reading and spending time with family and friends.
