Molly Maland

Associate Teacher

Molly Maland is embarking on her 20th year at ANCS. This will be her 23rd year of teaching. Ms. Maland received her B.A. in Human Studies (The Individual and Society) from Warren Wilson College.

Ms. Maland is a creative, artistic, and adventurous person. She has loved various forms of art since she was a child. Ms. Maland is patient, flexible, and positive in her teaching practice. Prior to ANCS, she taught at The Friends School of Atlanta in the 4/5 year old class. She has also worked as a teacher in the K-5 Special Education program at an elementary school outside of Asheville, North Carolina. Her first experience teaching was through an AmeriCorps program at an alternative, drop-out prevention high school in western Massachusetts. Ms. Maland ran the community volunteer program with students, was a student advisor, and organized a community mural project. She has also worked in various mental health group homes, an Artists Craft Guild in Asheville, North Carolina, and the Admissions Office, while a student attending college.

As a nature, food, and music lover, Ms. Maland enjoys cooking, swimming, family reunions, and quality time with family and friends. She and her husband have two awesome daughters and a snuggly dog. They spice up her life every day with their playfulness, humor, inquisitive minds, and daily singing and dancing!
