Molly Maland

1st Grade Teacher

Molly Maland rejoined the ANCS faculty in the 2016-2017 school year after previously teaching at the school. She has taught for 13 years. Ms. Maland received her B.A. in Human Studies (The Individual and Society) from Warren Wilson College.

Ms. Maland is a creative, artistic, and adventurous person. She has loved various forms of art since she was a child. She especially enjoys projects that incorporate art and artistic expression in the classroom. She is patient, flexible, and positive in her teaching practice. Prior to ANCS, she taught at The Friends School of Atlanta in the 4/5 year old class. She has also worked as an Associate teacher in the K-5 Special Education program at an elementary school outside of Asheville, North Carolina. Her first experience teaching was through an AmeriCorps program at a drop-out prevention high school in Massachusetts. Aside from teaching and assisting other teachers, Ms. Maland ran the community volunteer program with students, was a student advisor, and organized a community mural project. She has also worked in various group homes, an Artists Craft Guild in Asheville, North Carolina, and the Admissions Office, while a student attending Warren Wilson College.

A nature and music lover, Ms. Maland enjoys cooking, swimming, family reunions, and quality time with family and friends in her free time. She and her husband have two wonderful daughters. Her daughters spice up her life every day with their playfulness, humor, inquisitive minds, and daily singing and dancing!
