Nancy Newton

2nd Grade Teacher

Nancy Newton joined the ANCS faculty in 2017 and has taught both third and second grades. She earned an A.B.J. in Journalism from University of Georgia, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Mercer University.

Ms. Newton has experience teaching literacy skills such as phonemic and phonological awareness as well as comprehension strategies. She enjoys helping children learn to read and to find and appreciate the magic of a good story. Additionally, she loves to guide children to accomplish goals they think they cannot reach and celebrate their successes!

Ms. Newton previously taught pre-school, first grade, and Pre-K at Cliff Valley School. Prior to teaching, she worked in marketing for various high-tech companies. She loves spending time with her family, going to the beach, being a member of a book group, and taking long walks. She also enjoys playing with her dog, Roo.
