Nikia Showers
Middle Campus Assistant Principal
Nikia holds a Bachelor of Art in English from Mercer University, a Master of Art in Teaching Secondary Education from Agnes Scott College, and a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University. With 20 years of experience in the education field, Nikia began her career as a middle and high school English teacher in Dekalb and Clayton County, a role she held for 8 years. She then became a Professional Learning Specialist, supporting K-12 Instructional Coaches in Atlanta Public Schools (APS) for 2 years. After this, she served as an IB District Literacy Coach for grades 6-12 in Marietta City Schools for another 2 years before returning to APS as an IB MYP Coordinator for 8 years. This will be Nikia’s first school year at ANCS.
Nikia enjoys running, swimming, and reading a good book on the beach. She cherishes time with her husband, two wonderful children (including a daughter who is an ANCS alumna), and her rescue Chihuahua. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Nikia is proud to be part of the ANCS community.
