Rachel Alsher

Learning Lab Specialist

Rachel Alsher began teaching at ANCS in 2011. Ms. Alsher is impressed by the tight-knit community and unique learning environment at ANCS. She has taught 4th and 5th grade, and is excited to work in the Learning Lab this year.

Ms. Alsher says, “I love working with the children at ANCS and am so glad I chose a career in teaching.” Her area of expertise is building a safe and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks but are also held to high expectations. Ms. Alsher graduated from the University of Georgia where she earned an A.B.J. in Journalism and Mass Communication, with a major in Advertising and a minor in Spanish. She has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Emory University.

Before beginning her career in education, Ms. Alsher worked in commercial and residential real estate as a marketing coordinator. She also worked at an I.T. staffing firm as a sales coordinator before returning to school to pursue her teaching degree.

Outside of school, Ms. Alsher enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, exploring Atlanta’s restaurants and festivals, and supporting UGA football.
