Samantha Struttmann, aka Ms. Sammy, is the middle campus MTSS/504 Coordinator. This will be Ms. Sammy’s 11h year in education and 10th year at ANCS. Previously, she taught 6th and 7th grade Humanities, 6th and 7th Individuals and Societies and Language and Literature at ANCS Middle. She taught 1st grade for one year at ANCS Elementary School. She took a year away from ANCS to help establish the Kindezi School at Old 4th Ward and taught 4th grade. She is now back home at ANCS where she belongs. She spent her last year in the classroom leveraging her background in video/film and creative mind as the 7th/8th Design Teacher.

Ms. Sammy received her B.S.E. in Middle Level Education with a concentration in Social Science and Language Arts from Georgia State University. She has experience with the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta, the Metro Atlanta YMCA and working with young people as a volleyball and softball coach. She was in ANCS’s teacher residency program as a resident and a CREATE cooperating teacher in conjunction with the MLE program at Georgia State University.

In her free time, she enjoys attending local festivals and shows with her family and friends. Also, Ms. Sammy enjoys local art and frequenting local thrift stores hunting for vintage pieces that hold historical or sentimental significance. She loves being outdoors and spending time in the various dog parks throughout Atlanta with her dog Moneypenny. On the weekend you may spot her at a coffeeshop/dog park combination location. She cannot wait to get back to these hobbies, when it is safe.

Ms. Sammy also enjoys taking risks and has ridden in the front row of the tallest roller coaster in the United States and jumped out of the Stratosphere hotel in Las Vegas! She is ready for any challenge thrown her way, including finding the best way to reach all students no matter where they are, who they are, or what their circumstance may be.
