6th/7th Grade Language & Literature Teacher

Talishia earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida, and a master’s degree in teaching from Kennesaw State University. She has taught English Language Arts for several years. Before joining ANCS, she taught 7th and 8th grade Advanced English in Nassau County, Florida.

Ms. Sims believes that learning should be engaging, meaningful, and appropriately challenging, grounded in critical thinking skills that extend beyond the printed word. She strives to create a classroom built on respect, curiosity, and perseverance, where students feel safe asking questions, taking academic risks, and learning from their mistakes.

Outside the classroom, Ms. Sims enjoys bookstores, cooking, and discovering new experiences and perspectives. She treasures time with her family, friends, partner, and beloved fur babies. Her goal is not only to help students succeed academically but also to cultivate resilience, kindness, and a lifelong love of exploring the world through words, images, and meaningful discourse.
