Terri Linahan
Middle Campus Media Center Specialist
Terri Linahan joined ANCS in 2011. Ms. Linahan earned a B.A. in Sociology from Valdosta State University and a Master of Library Media from Georgia State University’s College of Education. Her mission is to keep up with great literature for kids and young adults. As an avid reader, she tries to stay abreast of new releases, while examining classics with a modern critical lens. She loves connecting with our students and finding a book with which they can connect. In addition, Ms. Linahan tries to stay on top of current media, technology and cultural trends to better understand and guide our students.
Ms. Linahan has enjoyed a variety of work experiences including: a university bookstore, an archaeology lab and a number of years in corporate business as a software tester and finance associate. When Ms. Linahan was in graduate school, she became a small business owner, serving neighborhood clients in various domestic services such as pet sitting and child care. This allowed her flexibility to volunteer in local schools – including ANCS.
Ms. Linahan knows she has found her true calling and is passionate about coming to work every day. She says, “I am fortunate to be part of such a close-knit, positive learning community. My co-workers are inspiring, and I learn so much from the middle-grade students. It is such an endearing, transformative age, and I thrive on our conversations.”
She enjoys yoga, cooking, road trips, mysteries and the company of her friends, family and pets.
