Veleta Greer

K-2nd Grade Instructional Coach

Veleta Greer began working at ANCS in 2005. Before she came to work at the school, Ms. Greer worked for the DeKalb County School System at Marbut Theme School. While at Marbut, she taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and was an Early Intervention Reading teacher.

For Ms. Greer, the best part of working at ANCS is the strength of the community. “Whether it’s a staff member, student, or parent, I trust that we are all committed to helping our school and community continue to grow and provide the best education and support we can.”

Ms. Greer is originally from a suburb of Atlanta. She and her husband, Matt moved to Ormewood Park in 2001. They have one son, Dylan, that has been a student at ANCS since 2012. They enjoy being out and about in the neighborhood.

In 1999, Ms. Greer graduated from Brenau University with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. She received an M.Ed. with a specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University in 2003. According to Ms. Greer, “Earning a Master’s Degree with a Specialization in Elementary Reading and Literacy provided me with a more in depth study of best practices when teaching literacy.”
