EC Principal Letter
Dear ANCS Elementary Families,
We are excited about celebrating the Lunar New Year together this week. It is the year of the rabbit and it is believed that people born during the year of the rabbit bring peace and calm. During our mindful moment this week we are focusing on how each of us can bring peace and calm to ourselves and others through our actions, words and thoughts. We are also pleased that one of our fourth grade teachers, Ms. Yuqi Chen, will be sharing the art of calligraphy with some of our classes. Ms. Chen is a professional calligraphy artist. She has been practicing calligraphy for over 20 years and was a gold award in national art compensation. She is excited to share her culture and her energy with students across the school.
On Friday morning, students in third, fourth and fifth grades will enjoy a performance of the Lion Dance, and on Friday afternoon the whole school will have fun while the fourth grade students move through the school for a dragon parade. Ms. Keller worked with students to create a large dragon and students across the school made red paper lanterns that they will hold up as the parade passes. We are also asking everyone to wear red on Friday in recognition of the Lunar New Year.
Looking into next week, we are so happy about Walk Your Student to Class Days! Please park your car and come into the building to walk your child to their room on the designated day for your child’s class. You can come in the morning during our arrival window between 7:30 and 8:00. Please plan to leave the building at 8:00 so classes can get started with their day without distractions.

As always, I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Have a wonderful remainder of your week.
Wishing you well,
Lara
