Letter from EC Principal
Dear ANCS Elementary Families,
A big shout out goes to ANCS music teacher, Mrs. Wawerna, for creating and directing such a fun and beautiful Winter Wonderland last Wednesday. The weather definitely made us nervous, but in the end, it turned out just right. It was heartwarming to have our whole school family together to celebrate the joy music brings to our lives. I am always blown away at how well our students perform. A special thanks goes to Coach Daniel, Mrs. Paez, Ms. Baughman, Ms. Griffith, Ms. Taylor & Ms. Lupo who supported Mrs. Wawerna with rehearsals and to Jim Kessenich, Dave Keevers and NaTasha Woody who helped with some backstage details. Also, hats off to all the parent volunteers who supported in so many ways. Bravo!
All the lost and found items are located in our cafeteria. We will donate everything at the end of the day Thursday, December 19th. We are encouraging students to take some time to look through the missing jackets, sweaters, shirts, hats, lunchboxes, etc. at some point this week. If you have time, you are also welcome to look through the racks yourself. We would love to see these items be reunited with their owners.
Once we get back to school, your child’s 18-Week Progress Report will be sent home via email on Tuesday, January 7th. As a reminder, this report is part of our holistic reporting system, and is designed to operate in conjunction with parent conferences and the end-of-the-year report card. This report is intentionally called a Progress Report because we understand that students are continually growing and developing over the course of a school year. The progress report provides a picture of where a student’s understanding of grade level standards is at this point in the school year. There is no formal parent-teacher conference required for this marking period, but, as always, if you have questions, you should reach out to your child’s teachers. We will have our next conference window beginning February 24th.
I am wishing all of you a happy, peaceful and restful winter break. I hope that you are able to spend this time with your loved ones, spread acts of kindness and joy to others and find love and peace in your heart. I am excited about spending time with my family, baking and relaxing at home.
Please remember that dismissal is at 11:30am on Friday and all students must be picked up from school by 11:30am. There is no after school on Friday.
Wishing you well,
Lara
