Letter from the MC Counselor

Hello! My name is Kristin Lee and I am the counselor and social worker for the middle campus. Born and raised in the metro Atlanta area, I attended Gwinnett County schools and obtained my BA from Berry College and my MSW from Georgia State. I began my social work career in Dekalb County Schools and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and I have been with ANCS for 19 years. I enjoy working here because of the intentionality, support, and community that exists in our school. I also love that when working with middle schoolers, you never know what each day will bring.

As a school counselor and social worker I wear many hats. I meet with students individually and in small groups. I talk to class groups about various SEL topics and I facilitate our partnerships with Pathways Counseling and Happy Tails pet therapy. I work with students and families with various economic and attendance concerns as well as serving as the mandated reporter for the middle campus. Additionally I am the secondary testing and high school transition coordinator, working with 8th graders and their families on the transition from 8th to 9th grades.

In my life outside of school I am the mom to two boys, one is a sophomore at Georgia Tech and the other is a junior at Decatur High School. I enjoy traveling, reading, playing tennis and watching my youngest play soccer.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. My email is klee@atlncs.org and my work cell is 470-597-2297.
