Say Something Reporting System

During the week of August 28th and September 4th, all students will be trained on the Say Something Anonymous Reporting system during advisory. This reporting system allows students to anonymously notify adults about safety concerns. The Say Something program has been a part of Atlanta Public Schools for 6 years and our current 7th and 8th graders have been previously trained to varying degrees. 

As a school family, we work with students to build relationships and support them in being upstanders. The Say Something Anonymous Reporting system is just one tool that students can use to help keep our school safe. The program teaches students to:

• Recognize the signs and signals of at-risk behaviors of individuals who may be at risk of hurting themselves or others 
• Take every sign and signal seriously
• Act quickly to get help by talking to a trusted adult or report a concern anonymously through the Say Something Anonymous Reporting System’s 24/7 crisis call center, mobile app or website 

The Sandy Hook Promise crisis center will triage any tips they receive and communicate that information back to APS and our school team.  This anonymous reporting system provides an opportunity for students who may be afraid to speak out about something of concern, to share a tip that could prevent harm from happening to any of our students and helps keep our community safe.
