The 2021-22 school year is Gracie’s ninth year at ANCS and third year on the ANCS PTCA. Her children are in 6th and 8th grades. With her eight years at ANCS, she hopes to bring a seasoned voice to the PTCA and regain some lost voices as children move from the elementary to middle campus. Oh and she always brings the fun!

More than anything, she loves the sense of community that ANCS fosters! She appreciates that as a charter school, ANCS is able to operate separately from the city school system like being able to maintain the small class sizes and project-based learning which has allowed for honing in on problem solving and “big picture” situations. These things will serve children well as they transition to upper grades/college and into the real world.

If you ask her husband, he’d say Gracie’s hobby is arguing with technology, but she would say it’s reading, particularly historical fiction (partial to WWII stories) with the occasional rock biography. Her respite during the weekdays is yoga and crossfit… because you know, opposing forces. On the weekends, you’ll find her on her front porch with whatever is her cocktail of the week… a new thing since COVID happened.
