RACE BIB & SHIRT PICK UP:

See below for where and when you can pick up your race bib and shirt. (Please note: if you already picked up a t-shirt and race bib prior to the original race date in May, you will still need to pick up a new race bib during one of the times below as your original race bib will not be active for race timing.)  You are strongly encouraged to pick up your items before race day to help the event run more smoothly.

  • Thurs, 11/7 2-6 pm at ANCS Elementary Campus (688 Grant St SE 30315)
  • Fri, 11/8 7:30-8:30 am at ANCS Elementary Campus (688 Grant St SE 30315)

  • Sat, 11/9 (race day) 7:15-8:00 am at ANCS Middle Campus (820 Essie Ave 30316)

GETTING TO THE RACE:

  • The race starts and finishes on Eastwood Ave. behind the ANCS middle school campus.
  • Run with the Wolves is held in a residential neighborhood in Ormewood Park, so parking is limited. Please be respectful of neighbors when parking–don’t block driveways.
  • We encourage you to carpool. For GPS or rideshare, use 820 Essie Ave 30316.
  • Walking or biking to the event is a great way to warm up. You can also take the #4 or #832 MARTA bus close to the start line.
  • Please note that there will be some lane/road closures around the course so give yourself plenty of time to get to the race.  The 5K starts promptly at 8:15 am and the 1 mile starts at 9:15 am.

COURSE MAP:

  • Visit the event website to see a map of the course.
  • Run with the Wolves is an official qualifying event for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race!
  • Please note there will be one water station along the course at the 2-mile mark.

POST-RACE ACTIVITIES AND AWARDS:

  • Following the race, all runners can grab a water, fruit, and granola bar from the snack table. Thank you to Sysco for the donation of these items.
  • King of Pops will be on hand if you’d like to purchase a popsicle using cash, card, or mobile pay (and if an ANCS student grabs a “wolf tail” off of one of the ANCS teachers running with one, they can trade in the wolf tail for a free popsicle!). $1 of every popsicle sold will come back to ANCS.
  • All finishers in the 1 mile or 5K races will receive a Run with the Wolves seed packet created by ANCS’s school farm specialist Nichole Lupo. The packets are filled with seeds of marigolds that were grown on the ANCS school farms. They are an awesome companion plant for vegetable gardens as their smell is off putting to garden pests and also a repellent for many insects, including mosquitoes and flies.
  • At around 9:30 a.m. there will be a free 200 meter “pup run” for any preschoolers who would like to participate.
  • Following the pup run, we will hold our awards ceremony.
    • The top 3 runners in each age group for both the 1 mile and 5K races will receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal handmade by clients at Skyland Trail. See the race website for a breakdown of the age groups.
    • The top overall male, female, and non-binary finishers of the 5K will each receive a gift card from Green Beans ATL as well as a running accessories from rnnr.

VOLUNTEER:

Run with the Wolves raises funds for the ANCS PTCA and is a volunteer-driven event. If you’d be willing to lend a hand before, during, or after the race to help us put on a great community event, sign up here. We do still have some volunteer needs so your help is greatly appreciated!

HEALTH & SAFETY:

Run with the Wolves will be held rain or shine, however, if there is lightning in the area within 30 minutes of the start we may need to delay the start or cancel the race. We will have a first aid station at the event as well as two medics on hand along the course in the event you should need assistance. If you wake up on race morning and aren’t feeling well, please stay home! You can still wear that Run with the Wolves t-shirt with pride knowing you helped to keep the community safe.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for the 2024 Run with the Wolves! If you have any questions, please email runwiththewolves@atlncs.org
