Amp Up APS! Districtwide Equity Survey and Opt-Out procedure

Dear APS Families,

Thank you for being a valued partner as we work together to improve the academic experience for your children. We will be asking students in grades 4-12 to complete an online survey at school during the month of November. The survey should not take more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

Your child’s feedback will provide invaluable insights into how school and district leaders can adapt to student needs. This survey is used to measure progress toward the Atlanta Board of Education’s governance goals of equity and stakeholder engagement. Survey responses are not anonymous, but they are confidential, meaning that only a few select survey administrators at the school and district office will be able to view your child’s responses. If your child does not want to answer a question, they may skip the question altogether. We are partnering with a third-party vendor, Panorama Education, to support us in administering the survey.

The survey content will ask students to self-reflect on:

  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Cultural Awareness and Action
  • Sense of Belonging
  • APS Profile of a Graduate indicators (engagement and self-efficacy)

Please notify us if you would like your child to opt out of taking the survey by Thursday, October 31, 2024, by either:

  1. Completing the online google form
  2. Printing and filling out this form and emailing it to AmpUpAPS@apsk12.org
  3. Returning the form in person to your child’s school

We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please contact us at AmpUpAPS@apsk12.org

Sincerely,

The APS Office of Equity + Social Justice
