Anti-Idling: A Breath of Fresh Air @ ANCS

Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School and Georgia Commute Schools have partnered to launch it’s 2024 Anti-Idling Campaign! Last week, you may have seen staff members with clipboards walking up and down the car lane. They were collecting idling data to determine exactly how much parked engine idling happens at our campuses. This is what is called our “control data.” Needless to say, we had a lot!

As you may know, there are health and financial benefits to turning of the car engine. We save gas and the lungs of our students and staff.  More information can also be found here.

In the coming week or two, you will see new anti-idling signs posted at each campus. You will also see some really enthusiastic volunteers on the car lanes passing out anti-idling pledges. The pledges may also come home in your kiddos’ backpacks. Please return them if you are committing to join us in the quest to protect the lungs of each every one of our young wolves, as well as continuing our environmental and sustainability efforts. It starts with each one of us.
