Dean of Student Supports

My name is Rhiannen Laurent and I am the Dean of Student Supports. I work across both campuses, so I really get to see the kids grow over the years. This is my 16th year at ANCS and I consider myself lucky to work at such an amazing school. Originally from Southwest Florida, I moved to Atlanta after graduating from the University of Florida.

After working in banking for a few years, I decided teaching was a passion that I wanted to pursue. I obtained my Master’s of Education at Georgia State University. I taught 4th and 5th grades in Fulton County School and APS before finding my forever home at ANCS.

One of my primary roles now is supporting our students with disabilities and the teachers that serve them. I also support our 504 and MTSS departments, helping to ensure we are meeting student needs. I love that at ANCS we put a tremendous amount of care, attention, and passion into ensuring that a variety of learners thrive and grow. We truly put children first in all that we do.

In my life outside of school I am the mom to two children.  One is currently a sophomore in college and the other one is a junior at Maynard Jackson High School. I live in East Atlanta Village and enjoy being a part of a vibrant in-town community. In my free time I love shopping the farmer’s market, walking the Beltline and reading.

Please feel free to reach out to me at anytime!
