From the Governing Board Chair
Dear ANCS School Family,
On behalf of the ANCS Governing Board, I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome our new and returning families to the 2024-2025 school year! We have had an amazing start to the school year!
I am honored to serve as Board Chair for this school year. Personally, I have been a member of the ANCS community for the past six years. I have two sons, Jace who just started the 6th grade at the Middle Campus and Cade, who is a 5th grader at the EC. Professionally, I work in the field of education and I believe in the power of public education. I have a profound adoration for our school community and am committed to the mission, core values and guiding principles of ANCS.
We have a dedicated group of volunteers who make up our Governing Board, including two new board members, Jonna Martin and Emily Lake Hansen. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank our two outgoing board members, Irina Brimmell and Pouya Dianat who have served on the board in various roles for the past three years. I want to extend my gratitude to all of our active board members for their service and dedication to the Governing Board of ANCS.
Remaining active and involved in the ANCS school community is paramount to the success of our school. I encourage you to volunteer your time at any of our various groups and programs, whether you choose to become involved with our PTCA, our Governing Board or volunteer your time as a class sponsor, it is vital that you remain involved in the school community. In addition, ANCS hosts a variety of fun events throughout the school year and it is equally important to attend the various events throughout the school year to support our students and our staff. From personal experience, some of our closest family friends have been formed through our active involvement while at ANCS. ANCS does an amazing job of communicating with our school families and they encourage active involvement from our families. Please ensure that you are reading the weekly Courier, utilizing the school calendar and communicating with your child’s teachers on a regular basis.
Our first Board meeting of the school year will be held both in-person at the Elementary Campus as well as virtually on Thursday, August 22nd at 6:30pm. Board meetings will occur on the third Thursday of every month throughout the school year. Please check the school calendar for more information. All of our meetings are open to the public, and we encourage your participation in our school family.
In closing, I wanted to express my gratitude to the Leadership Team, the Faculty and Staff and the Executive Director of ANCS. It is the tireless effort to pursue excellence that makes our school a special place to learn and work. Thank you for everything including preparation over the summer, your collective organization during pre-planning and the supportive and nurturing first days of welcoming our students and families back to school. Because of you, we have had a great start to the school year!
It is my sincere hope that you have a great school year and please do not hesitate to contact me or any Board member if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Shannon Rutledge
